An exemplary and well-crafted survival horror xianxia. Stranger Danger does nothing to turn the reins of the genre but honed it to a keen, pleasing edge. The premise is excellent and easily comprehensible: in a land where nothing is safe from being a deadly "Stranger," only one thing is sure—survival, and that is a matter of alertness, cunning, and a lot of paranoia. The hero, Ye Qing, is an easily roots-for everyman who has to adapt in this harsh kind of land. Sometimes, the true peril may lie not in the terrifying Strangers but in the shady humans that hide and observe him from the sidelines.
