Synopsis

Liam Sera Banfield is a reincarnator.
He had reincarnated into a fantasy world of magic and swords, but at the time the civilization had already been making advancements into outer space.
The setting takes place in an intergalactic empire, a space opera-like universe where humanoid weapons and spaceships battle.
Liam, who had been reborn into an aristocratic family in a monarchic society, has the ambition to one day become an evil lord.
In his previous life, Liam had unfortunately lost everything and died in despair.
— It’s foolish to live for others.
— I will live for myself.
Keeping those feelings in his heart, he has decided to fulfil his goal, but is instead worshipped as a virtuous ruler due to his difference in values.
Will Liam be able to become an evil lord?

Editor's Note

💡 The "Gundam" meets "Overlord." OreAku is a love letter to the Space Opera genre. It blends 18th-century noble aesthetics (aristocracy, katanas, tea) with 30th-century technology (warp drives, death stars, robots). The core hook is the comedy: Liam performs a "virtuous" act (like killing a corrupt official), thinking he is "removing competition for his own tyranny," while his subordinates cry tears of joy at his "justice."

The Author’s Style. Written by Yomu Mishima (Sevens, MobuSeka), this novel shares the same cynical humor and "misunderstood hero" tropes. However, unlike MobuSeka, Liam is proactive. He doesn't want a quiet life; he wants to be the biggest, baddest lord in the galaxy.

"I'll exploit my people until they have nothing left! Step one: Make sure they are healthy, educated, and wealthy so I can tax them more! Muahaha!"

*260+ chapters of robots, misunderstandings, and a demon who really needs a vacation. Ongoing — and still the funniest 'evil' lord in the galaxy.*

Experience Curve

Arc 1 (The Childhood & Training): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Liam spends his youth swinging a sword and investing in a female android (Rosetta). His "con-man" master unknowingly teaches him a god-tier technique.

Arc 2 (The Pirate War): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Liam takes his "small" fleet to hunt pirates for "loot" (greed), but the Empire sees it as a heroic crusade to save the borders.

Arc 3 (The Capital/Academy): ⭐⭐⭐ – The inevitable school arc. Even at 50 years old, he's a "child" by space standards. The misunderstandings reach a fever pitch here as he "bullies" other nobles.

Arc 4 (Empire Politics): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Liam starts getting involved in the succession struggle. His sheer power makes him a kingmaker, whether he wants to be or not.

WebNovelDB Review

8 /10
A high-budget comedy that feels like a Saturday morning cartoon with planet-sized stakes.

Writing & Pacing: 8/10. Mishima is a veteran. The jokes land well, and the mecha action is surprisingly descriptive and fast-paced.

Character Development: 6/10. Liam is a static character—he doesn't change much because the joke depends on him staying "Evil." The side characters (his robot-maid, his knight Marie) provide the emotional weight.

World Building: 7/10. It captures the "Space Nobility" vibe perfectly. It feels like Legend of the Galactic Heroes if it were written as a parody.

Comedy: 10/10. If you like the "Misunderstanding" genre, this is gold. The Guide’s constant suffering is a highlight.

The Archetype: The "Benevolent Tyrant by Mistake." You want a protagonist who is effectively a cosmic-scale version of The Eminence in Shadow. Liam is a man who was betrayed in his past life and vows to be a selfish, greedy, "Evil Lord" in his next. However, because he was a fundamentally decent person, his idea of "Evil" (e.g., "I'll educate my citizens so they can pay me more taxes!") is viewed by the world as visionary and saintly. This is for readers who enjoy Space Opera settings, massive Mecha battles, and high-octane misunderstanding comedy.

Not For You If: You want a gritty, realistic exploration of interstellar politics or a truly "evil" protagonist. Liam is essentially a "Good Guy" with a massive branding problem. If you dislike "Task Failed Successfully" logic, where the protagonist wins every battle through sheer luck or plot armor disguised as "The Guide's" failed interference, this satire will likely frustrate you.

Note on The Guide: He is the true protagonist of the comedy. Every 'curse' he inflicts on Liam backfires spectacularly. If you enjoy watching a villain suffer, you'll love every scene he's in.
