Synopsis

Do you know how this world ends?
Become the hero and defeat the 72 Demon Lords. The game that was boasted as the absolute hardest strategy game, 『Dungeon Attack』.
I used to be the ‘hero’ who had accomplished everything in this game, but after answering a suspicious survey, I found myself in the game as the weakest Demon Lord, 「Dantalian」.
With only my eloquent tongue and my memories of conquest as a hero—.
In order to survive as Dantalian. I shall tear this world apart.

📂 Interface Système : Verbal Combat Tactics

Dantalian does not use swords; he uses Rhetorical Frameworks.

Tactic Description Result
The False Choice Presenting two options that both lead to his desired outcome. Manipulation of the Demon Lord Council.
Reputational Suicide Admitting to a smaller sin to hide a massive conspiracy. Gaining the trust of powerful enemies.
Eloquent Gaslighting Using flowery language to make his opponents feel “unrefined” or “stupid.” Dominating diplomatic negotiations.
Authority Anchoring Acting as if he already has the power he is trying to seize. Convincing thousands to follow him without a single coin.

Editor's Note

💡 The Anti-Hero's Opera. This is not a story about leveling up or gaining "cheat" skills. It is a psychological thriller about a man who uses eloquence, gaslighting, and Machiavellian schemes to survive in a world where he is physically the weakest. It is famous for its high-quality prose (in the LN version) and its extremely polarizing protagonist, who shifts from a "lazy survivor" to a "theatrical psychopath."

"I do not have a drop of mana, nor the strength to kill a goblin. All I have is a tongue that can turn a king into a beggar and a beggar into a god."

*5 volumes of gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girlbossing your way to godhood. Ongoing — and still the smartest person in every room.*

Experience Curve

Vol. 1 (The Weaver): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Widely considered a masterpiece of the genre. The verbal showdown at the "Walpurgis Night" (Demon Lord Council) is legendary.

Vol. 2–3 (The Descent): ⭐⭐⭐ – This is where the story polarizes. The MC’s personality shifts dramatically toward "insane genius." Some find it brilliant character growth; others call it "edgy chuunibyou" writing.

Vol. 4–5 (The Grand Scheme): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – High-level political maneuvering and large-scale war. The prose remains top-tier, but the "game" elements are almost entirely abandoned for pure drama.

WebNovelDB Review

8 /10
A "Pretentious" Masterpiece. It is either the smartest novel you will ever read or the most "try-hard" edgy fantasy, depending on your tolerance for sociopathic protagonists.

Writing & Translation: 10/10. The English translation is widely praised as being of "professional publishing" quality. The prose is flowery, theatrical, and perfectly captures the MC's arrogance.

Character Development: 5/10 (Inconsistent) or 9/10 (Complex). Critics hate the MC's sudden shift into a "Joker-like" psycho in Vol 2. Supporters argue it's a realistic breakdown of a man forced to embrace evil to survive.

Originality: 9/10. It subverts the "Dungeon Management" trope. Instead of building traps, he builds political alliances and destroys reputations.

The "Logic" Gap: The MC often wins because the author makes him "too smart" to fail, or makes the world's inhabitants conveniently fall for his speeches.

The Archetype: The "Cunning" Reader. If you loved Lelouch (Code Geass) or Light Yagami (Death Note), you will appreciate the "Spider in the Web" vibe.

Not For You If: You want a hero. Every character in this book is, to some degree, "insane" or "evil." Also, if you hate "edgy" monologues about the worthlessness of human life, stay away.

Warning: The Web Novel and Light Novel are different stories. The LN (reviewed here) is significantly more polished, has a different plot, and features the famous "Choice Windows." The WN is considered more of a "rough draft."

Version Note: This review covers the Light Novel (LN). The Web Novel (WN) is a different, rougher draft. If you're new, start with the LN. It's the definitive experience.

Key Information

Main Characters: Dantalian (A genius former shut-in with severe "daddy issues" who is the weakest Demon Lord), Lapis Lazuli (A cold, logical half-succubus merchant and strategist), Laura De Farnese (A tactical prodigy whom Dantalian breaks and remolds into his commander).
Power System: The Choice System and Eloquence. While others use high-level magic, Dantalian utilizes game-like choice windows, an "Affection Meter," and pure Machiavellian rhetoric to manipulate political landscapes and accumulate authority.
Themes: The power of Rhetoric and Gaslighting, the nature of Authority and leadership, and the psychological breakdown of a man forced into sociopathy to survive.
