Chronicles of Primordial Wars is a popular novel that blends Action, Adventure, Martial Arts and more. Written by the author Chen Ci Lan Tiao. A total of 849 chapters have been translated and the novel is complete.

Synopsis

Shao Xuan joins a friend in his expedition to a recently discovered archaeological cave. After he picks up an ordinary looking stone he is teleported to a different world and wakes up in the body of a small orphan child. The world he is in now is still in its stone age with primitive tools made of stone and the ways of the people are savage. Savage isn’t the only thing special about the people though, because they have superhuman strength, jump higher than trees and punch stones. In short, they are able to cultivate their bodies. Despite all this, it is a real struggle to survive because of the scarcity of food. Together with Caesar, his pet wolf, he tries to survive in this cruel world.

Editor's Note

⚠️ High Cringe Alert. Low. Unlike many CN novels, this story is remarkably grounded. The MC isn't a "hammy" theatrical villain or a creepy stalker; he is a pragmatic survivalist. The "cringe" is almost non-existent, replaced by a gritty, matter-of-fact Stone Age tone.

❤️ The "Will They/Won't They" Trap. Extremely low. This is a journey-focused story, not a romance. The MC treats women as fellow tribe members rather than love interests. While a marriage is mentioned in the epilogue, don't expect blushing heroines or heart-fluttering drama.

👯 The "Contrived" Harem. Non-existent. Shao Xuan is a "pioneer" leader, not a collector. His strongest bonds are with his tribe and his pet wolf, Caesar. The focus remains on the survival and glory of the Flaming Horn tribe.

🔚 The Ending. Generally satisfying but described by some as "open-ended." It concludes the main journey at 844 chapters, with extra chapters providing a much-needed "timeskip" epilogue that shows the long-term impact of the MC's leadership.

844 chapters of bone-crushing survival, tribal mysticism, and a wolf that’s the real GOAT. Complete — a masterpiece of world-building.

Experience Curve

Ch. 1–50 (The Cave Orphan): ⭐⭐⭐ – The Setup. A slow-burn "Slice of Life" in a brutal Stone Age. The MC focuses on finding food and crafting stones. Some may find the pace "snail-like," but it establishes the harsh reality of the world.

Ch. 51–300 (The Totem Awakening): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Hook. The supernatural elements kick in. Shao Xuan awakens his totem power and begins to use his "advanced" thinking to innovate for the tribe. Hunting arcs against terrifying prehistoric beasts raise the stakes.

Ch. 301–600 (Exploration & Mystery): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Peak. The story moves beyond the village. Shao Xuan travels to legendary locations, encounters other tribes with unique powers, and uncovers the mystery of the world’s "supernatural" nature.

Ch. 601–844 (Tribal Glory): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Climax. The Flaming Horn tribe returns to its former glory. The focus shifts to large-scale tribal cooperation and dealing with powerful outsiders (Slave Masters).

WebNovelDB Review

9 /10
A rare gem that ditches the "arrogant young master" cliches for a deep, atmospheric exploration of a primitive world. It’s "Man vs. Wild" meets "Xianxia."

Comedy/Meta-Humor: 4/10. The humor is subtle and dry, often revolving around the primitive mindset (treating food like gold) rather than jokes or memes.

Romance/Chemistry: 2/10. Almost zero on-screen romance. The chemistry lies in "brotherhood" and the bond between man and beast.

Protagonist: 9/10. Shao Xuan is intelligent, calm, and decisive. He isn't a chatterbox; he just "gets sh*t done." He carries himself like a leader from day one.

Tension: 7/10. While the MC is strong, the "nature" of this world is terrifying. The struggle for resources and the mystery of unknown lands provide a constant sense of danger.

The Good: Phenomenal world-building. The "Totem Power" system is simple, fresh, and perfectly fits the tribal theme. The MC is a refreshing break from the usual "psychopath" protagonists.

The Bad: The pacing is very slow, especially at the start. The writing style is matter-of-fact and "dry," which might bore readers looking for constant explosions and "face-slapping."

The Archetype: The "Tribal Pioneer." He doesn't seek to conquer the world for his own ego; he seeks to ensure his people never have to go hungry again.

The Final Verdict: This is a 10/10 for readers who love adventure, world-building, and smart MCs. It is the ultimate antidote to "cliché fatigue." If you can handle a slow start and a lack of romance, you will find one of the most honest and rewarding journeys in web fiction.

Cringe Note: Practically zero. This is a "mature" read in terms of tone, focusing on the weight of leadership rather than adolescent fantasies.
