True Martial World is a popular novel that blends Action, Adventure, Drama and more. Written by the author Cocooned Cow. A total of 1,710 chapters have been translated and the novel is complete.

Synopsis

The Human Emperor and his opponents were embroiled in a 33 day long final battle involved the strongest experts. After destroying the Abyssal World and sealing the Abyssal demon king’s godly weapon‘ a mysterious purple card disappeared into the space-time vortex‘ and tunneled through infinite space-time.

In the vast wilderness‘ where martial arts was still slowly growing in its infancy‘ several peerless masters tried to find their path in the world of martial arts.

A young adult named Yi Yun from modern Earth had unwittingly stumbled into such a world and began that journey with a purple card of unknown origin.

It’s a magnificent yet unknown true martial art world. This is the story of a normal young adult turning into a legendary peerless expert.

📂 System Interface: The Tournament World Blueprint

True Martial World (TMW) is the spiritual successor to Martial World. While it shares a multiverse, it features a completely different protagonist, Yi Yun, who stumbles upon the Purple Crystal Card (the companion artifact to Lin Ming’s Magic Cube).

The story is best described as a “Technical Progression” novel. Yi Yun uses the Purple Crystal to manipulate energy with microscopic precision, allowing him to master the Desolate Heaven Technique (creating relics from monster souls) and eventually the Dao of the Brick.

Component Classification Tactical Implication
Purple Crystal Card Origin Artifact Allows Yi Yun to see energy flows and “pluck” energy from his surroundings. It is the ultimate tool for both cultivation and crafting.
Desolate Heaven Technique Professional Skill The art of refining “Desolate Bones.” Yi Yun uses this to become a master refiner, gaining influence and wealth while others just focus on brute force.
Pure Yang/Aspect of Totem Combat Foundation Yi Yun cultivates high-grade fire/sun energy and creates unique “Totems” (spiritual avatars) that give him an edge in large-scale battles.
The Tournament Cycle Narrative Engine The story revolves around massive, high-stakes competitions where Yi Yun is consistently underestimated and then “shocks the crowd.”

📂 System Interface: The Status Window (Yi Yun)

Attribute Classification Description
Personality Cunning & Rational Unlike the more “heroic” Lin Ming, Yi Yun is a trickster. He enjoys setting traps, baiting arrogant enemies, and revealing his full power only at the last possible second.
Combat Style Precision & Versatility He uses a mix of sabers, bricks (early on), and pure energy manipulation. He wins by exploiting the tiny flaws in his opponent’s energy flow.
Moral Alignment Neutral Good He is deeply protective of his sister (Jiang Xiaorou) and his lover (Lin Xintong), but he has no mercy for “Young Masters” who cross his bottom line.
Social Standing The “Hidden Dragon” He almost always disguises his cultivation level or background, preferring to be the dark horse that sweeps the competition.

Editor's Note

💡 The "Reaction" King. If you love reading about a crowd’s jaw-dropping shock when an "average" boy performs a miracle, TMW is the gold standard. If you find reaction chapters repetitive, this will be a tough read.

The "Brick" Era. The early chapters feature Yi Yun using a literal brick to knock out enemies. It is a fan-favorite comedic phase before the story becomes more serious and high-stakes.

Sequel Connectivity. While it is a sequel to Martial World, you do not need to read the first one to understand this. However, seeing the connections in the final arc is a major payoff for long-time fans.

"Only by standing at the peak can one see the true landscape of the world."

1710 Chapters. Completed. A journey from a starving slave-boy to the master of the 33 Heavens.

Experience Curve

Ch. 1–200 (The Cloud Wilderness): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Masterclass. The "starving tribe" setting is gritty and high-stakes. Yi Yun’s rise from a "cripple" to a hero is perfectly paced.

Ch. 201–800 (Kingdoms & Sects): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Peak. This contains the "Tai Ah Divine Kingdom" arc, widely considered the best part of the novel, featuring massive wars and intense cultivation breakthroughs.

Ch. 801–1710 (The Higher Heavens): ⭐⭐⭐ – The Descent. Many readers feel the pacing slows down here. The "Black Armored Demon God" arc is notoriously long and repetitive, though the final conclusion ties back to the prequel nicely.

WebNovelDB Review

7 /10
A high-quality but formulaic "junk food" classic of the Xianxia genre.

Writing Quality: 6/10. Cocooned Cow is an expert at building hype, but his "word-padding" (describing crowd reactions for 3 chapters) is legendary.

Character Design: 6/10. Yi Yun is likable but lacks deep emotional growth. Lin Xintong is a strong female lead who is actually talented in her own right, though she disappears for long stretches.

World Building: 7.5/10. The concept of the 33 Heavens and the Desolate Heaven Technique is well-realized and feels more "magical" than standard punch-fests.

Pacing: 5/10. It starts strong but becomes "True Tournament World." The later arcs suffer from massive bloat.

The Good: The "Aha!" moments. Watching Yi Yun use his modern-earth logic and the Purple Crystal to solve impossible cultivation puzzles is consistently satisfying.

The Bad: The Repetition. If you’ve read one "Young Master insults MC => Tournament happens => MC wins" arc, you’ve read most of the middle of this book.

For Fans Of: Martial World, Desolate Era, Against the Gods.

Not For You If: You want a complex plot with political intrigue or an MC who doesn't rely on a "cheat" item.

The Archetype: The "Technical Specialist." He wins because he understands the mechanics of the world better than those born into it.
