Synopsis

Lu Yang transmigrated into the world of immortal cultivation, only to become a disciple of the First Saint Demonic Sect.
By sheer luck, he obtained the 【Book of a Hundred Lifetimes】, a wondrous treasure that let him start over with a new life every time he died—resetting everything to the beginning while carrying over the treasures, cultivation base, and lifespan from his previous life, even awakening special talents.
Alas, its uses were limited; it didn’t make one truly undying and inextinguishable.
With a chaotic age looming over the cultivation world, Lu Yang planned to hole up in the Demonic Sect, grinding away at his cultivation life after life—not leaving the mountain until he became an immortal. Unfortunately, the Demonic Sect was vicious beyond measure, and “talent” was everywhere.
In his first life, Lu Yang fell prey to his Senior Sister’s treachery.
In his second, after finally turning the tables and killing her, he was done in by his Senior Brother.
A third life. A fourth…
Only after a hundred lives had passed did he look back and realize he had already become a titan of the Demonic Dao, the vilest beast within the First Saint Sect.
“Everyone in the Demonic Sect is a real ‘talent’—smooth talkers, the lot of them.”
“I absolutely love it here!”

Editor's Note

💡 The "True Demon" Warning. Not gonna lie, this is a heavy one. Unlike many "villain" novels where the MC is just misunderstood, Lu Yang is a textbook demonic cultivator. He is ruthless, manipulative, and commits genuinely horrific acts—especially in the first few hundred chapters. If you need a hero to root for, look elsewhere.

The Complexity Spike. I honestly struggled to keep up with the names and terms around chapter 400. The power system is dense and uses a lot of specialized terminology. It's rewarding if you like depth, but it's definitely not a "brain-off" read.

Regression as a Resource. The way the 【Book of a Hundred Lifetimes】 works is brilliant. It’s not just a "save point"; it’s a "New Game+" mechanic. Seeing how he carries over cultivation bases to fundamentally break the world logic in the next life is the ultimate dopamine hit for progression fans.

The Translation Hurdle. Most readers agree: the standard MTL or AI translations for this are rough. You’ll need to do some mental gymnastics to translate terms like "Jiange" or "Dao fruit positions" in your head.

1441 Chapters of pure, unadulterated scheming. Complete—for those with a stomach for the dark side.

Experience Curve

Ch. 1–150 (The Learning Curve): ⭐⭐⭐ – The Setup. Lu Yang dies. A lot. This phase is all about him realizing that in the Primordial Saint Sect, your Senior Sister is more dangerous than a natural disaster.

Ch. 151–600 (The Foundation Grind): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Hook. This is where the "New Game+" mechanics shine. He stops being the prey and starts becoming the hunter. The sexual content/dual cultivation peaks here—it’s controversial and definitely a "Cons" for many.

Ch. 601–1100 (The Karma Chessboard): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Peak. The scale shifts to "True Persons" and "True Lords." The world-building expands into different lands (Northern/Southern Lands), and the political intrigue between the four major factions becomes world-class.

Ch. 1101–1441 (The Titan’s Ascent): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Climax. Lu Yang becomes the "vilest beast" of the sect. The power scaling goes vertical, with Nascent Soul masters manipulating timelines. The ending is satisfying, though slightly rushed in the final arcs.

WebNovelDB Review

8 /10
A masterclass in "Demonic Dao" fiction that succeeds by making every character—not just the MC—an intelligent, backstabbing strategist. It avoids almost every "brain-dead antagonist" trope in the genre.

Scheming & Intrigue: 10/10. This is the novel's soul. Everyone is lying. Every "gift" is a trap. If you liked Reverend Insanity, this is the closest itch-scratcher you will find.

World-Building: 9/10. The factions (Buddhists as mental parasites, Righteous as gaslighters) are incredibly well-realized. The concept of "Status Suppression" makes the world feel terrifyingly hierarchical.

Protagonist: 7/10. Lu Yang is consistent and cautious. However, his lack of any moral compass and the "s*x maniac" phase in the mid-story makes him a very polarizing figure.

Pacing: 7/10. While the story moves fast, the author often stops to explain the complex power system for thousands of words, which can kill the momentum.

The Good: A realistic take on a world where power is finite. There is no "power of friendship" here; there is only information asymmetry and better planning.

The Bad: The early-to-mid story includes a lot of sexual violence/non-con "dual cultivation" used as a tool for info-gathering. It’s unnecessary for the plot and will be an immediate DNF (Do Not Finish) for many.

The Archetype: The Relentless Regressor. He doesn't have "talent"—he has time. He will live a thousand years in a cave just to outlive an enemy, and he will do it with a smile.

Final Verdict: Read Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect if you want a novel that treats cultivation like a high-stakes poker game where everyone is cheating. It is a grim, complex, and rewarding journey, provided you can handle a protagonist who is truly a monster.
