Synopsis

Ning Shu had dropped dead. But in a burst of good fortune, she became a task-taker in charge of counterattacking for the pitiful cannon fodders. Thus, Ning Shu, in one world after another, took all kinds of life roles and encountered all kinds of “you’re heartless, you’re ruthless, you’re making trouble for no reason” people. She encountered all sorts of white lotus flowers, green tea b*tches, scheming b*tches, by the batch.

“Does any true beauty still exist in the world?!” Bellowed Ning Shu angrily. “You annoying tr*sh! I’m just here to counterattack, please don’t get in the way of me completing my task.” Transmigration main character, reincarnation main character. There’s only a lazy task-taker, no indestructible main character halo. Ning Shu had no choice, but to painfully gather moral integrity in each of the worlds.

Editor's Note

💡 The "Mundane" Transmigrator. Unlike other QT leads who start as assassins or geniuses, Ning Shu begins as a bedridden, inexperienced girl. Her growth is not overnight. She has to learn medicine, martial arts, and strategy arc by arc. The "Cannon Fodder" aspect is literal; she takes over characters who were meant to be stepping stones for "Main Characters" (Mary Sues/Gary Stus) and tries to give them a dignified life.

"It is a love letter to independence and a hate mail to 'Brain-Dead' romance, but it is written with a jagged, often hypocritical edge that will either fascinate you or make your blood boil."

*4438 chapters of counterattacks, contradictions, and a heroine who will never love you back. Complete — if you survive the marathon.*

Experience Curve

Ch. 1–100 (The Rookie Phase): ⭐⭐ – Frustrating. Ning Shu is a "punching bag." She is weak, the writing is still finding its feet, and the "face-slapping" is mild. Many readers drop it here.

Ch. 101–1000 (The Golden Age): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Addictive. The author finds their groove. Arcs like "I Think My Husband Wants to Kill Me" or the "Beast World" are creative deconstructions of web novel tropes. Ning Shu becomes a pragmatic, cynical professional.

Ch. 1001–3000 (The Void Expansion): ⭐⭐⭐ – Lore Heavy. The story shifts from just "missions" to the politics of the Organization, the "Void," and God-like entities like the School Doctor (Tai Shu).

Ch. 3001–4438 (The Marathon's End): ⭐⭐ – Repetitive. Only for completionists. The themes cycle back, and the scale becomes so large that the individual "human" stories of the early arcs feel distant.

WebNovelDB Review

7 /10
A masterclass in slow-burn character growth marred by deeply problematic moral flip-flopping.

The Protagonist (Ning Shu): 8/10. She is a survivor. She chooses "Wisdom Points" over "Charm Points" and refuses to fall in love because she knows she’s just a visitor. Her independence is her greatest strength.

The "Feminist" Paradox: 4/10. Warning: The novel is a minefield. While it mocks "Alpha Males," it frequently employs victim-blaming, "Not Like Other Girls" tropes, and uses graphic sexual violence as a punishment for antagonists. Reviewers are split on whether it's "realistic for the setting" or just "internalized misogyny."

No Romance: 10/10. If you want a story where the FL truly remains single and focused on her own power, this is the gold standard.

Reader Archetype: The "Anti-Troper." You are tired of female leads who give up their power for a handsome CEO. You want to see the "Mary Sues" get what's coming to them. You have the patience for a 4,000-chapter grind.

Not For You If: You are sensitive to depictions of gender-based violence or victim-blaming. If you need a "moral" protagonist, Ning Shu’s pragmatic (and sometimes cruel) logic will alienate you. Also, stay away if you want a concise, fast-paced story.

Trigger Warning: Contains graphic sexual violence used as punishment for antagonists, victim-blaming narratives, and 'Not Like Other Girls' tropes that may be triggering for sensitive readers. Approach with awareness.
