Synopsis

Chase C. Miller is an actor with chillingly glowing purple eyes that could violently take one’s heart and a beauty that draws everyone’s eyes. After spending a heated night with him, Josh was imprinted behind his ear and he now had a secret that must never be found. It was none other than the fact that he was pregnant with Chase’s child!
A few years later, Josh, who had been hired once again as his bodyguard, is astonished by his appalling character. Despite this, every time they meet eyes and stand close together, Josh cannot seem to be able to stop his heart from beating faster.
“Oops, are you all right?”
“You f*cking bastard, how dare you—”
“Yes, I somehow dared to touch my client’s d*ck. I sincerely apologize.”

Editor's Note

💡 The "Omegaverse" Action Thriller. Kiss Me if You Can is a high-octane, spicy spin-off from the Kiss Me, Liar universe. It blends the "Bodyguard x Celebrity" trope with the "Secret Baby" cliché, all set against a grit-and-glamor backdrop in California. Unlike its predecessor, which is known for heavy angst and toxic dynamics, this entry leans into a more "equal" partnership—eventually.

The "Green-ish" Red Flag. Chase Miller is a dominant Alpha who starts as a nightmare client: violent, narcissistic, and prone to "pistol-whipping" his staff. However, as the layers of his trauma are peeled back (thanks to his sociopathic brother Grayson), he reveals a surprisingly naive and devoted side. He isn't a playboy; he is a man haunted by a past he doesn't fully understand, searching for the one person he truly bonded with.

The Power Bottom. Joshua (Josh) is a breath of fresh air for the genre. He is a highly competent, physically imposing bodyguard who hides his Omega status to survive in a tough industry. He isn't a "damsel"; he frequently saves Chase’s life and handles the Alpha's temper with the discipline of a seasoned professional.

Experience Curve

The Imprinting (Ch. 1–10): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – High Tension. The re-encounter between the disgraced bodyguard and the actor who unknowingly impregnated him is electric. The mystery of the "mark" behind the ear keeps the stakes high.

The Action Movie Arc (Ch. 11–30): ⭐⭐ – Logic Leap. This is where the story goes "Fast & Furious." From helicopter escapes to desert coyote attacks and truck-stop shootouts, the plot loses its grounding in reality. If you enjoy 90s action movie absurdity, you'll love it; if you want realism, it's a struggle.

The Domestic Resolution (Ch. 31–Final): ⭐⭐⭐ – Sweet but Rushed. The "Secret Baby" reveal and the confrontation with Chase’s family happen quickly. The side stories are essential here to feel like the character arcs actually finished.

WebNovelDB Review

8 /10
A "Spicy Action Blockbuster" that is far more enjoyable than the original series, provided you can ignore some questionable physics and a very bizarre desert survival scene.

Dynamics & Consent: 9/10. Compared to other Zig novels, this is remarkably healthy. Once the employer/employee barrier breaks, the two treat each other as partners. Chase’s obsession with "consent" (due to his trauma) is a notable character trait.

Protagonist (Josh): 10/10. One of the best Omegas in BL. He is a devoted father, a badass fighter, and doesn't lose his personality just because an Alpha is nearby.

Plot Logic: 3/10. The author’s understanding of US laws, geography, and biology (e.g., using nicotine to stop massive bleeding) is... creative. The "tongue-biting" incident is particularly hard to swallow from a legal perspective.

Trauma Handling: 6/10. The "Grayson" subplot is dark and disturbing. While it explains Chase’s behavior, the resolution feels a bit hand-waved at the very end.

The Good: The chemistry is top-tier. The interactions between the team of bodyguards provide great "found family" vibes. Pete (the son) is used effectively as a bridge between the leads rather than just a plot device.

The Bad: The pacing in Volume 3 is chaotic. Major plot points like a kidnapping cult are introduced and resolved in what feels like minutes. The official translation's formal dialogue can feel like a "Historical Romance" accidentally slipped into a modern setting.

Verdict: The Bodyguard’s Gamble. Read it if you want a capable "Uke" who can hold his own and a "Seme" who is a beautiful, broken mess. Skip it if you can't stand plot holes the size of the Mojave Desert.
