The Magnificent Battle Records of A Former Noble Lady is a popular novel that blends Action, Adventure, Fantasy and more. Written by the author Yumeneko. A total of 48 chapters have been translated and the novel is complete.

Synopsis

Syltina was originally a Duke’s daughter.
Sentenced to exile two years ago, she crossed over to the neighboring country and entered its Guild. The current Syltina, who became strong to the extent that even foreign countries knew her name, was summoned by the country which exiled her.
In order to purify the land defiled by monsters, Syltina gets stuck in a journey with a partner who constantly has zero motivation, the girl from the different world who drove her into banishment, the First Prince who was her former fiance, her former brother who is a Knight and a pointlessly shy magician.
This is the story of Syltina slicing off enemies, playing the part of a Straight Man (tsukkomi) and sometimes, the Fool (boke) to her companions.

Editor's Note

💡 The Anti-Villainess Path. This isn't a story of redemption or seeking love. It is a cold, calculated tale of a woman who was discarded and returned with zero interest in reconciliation.

Apathy as a Weapon. Unlike many revenge novels, the MC's primary weapon isn't hate—it’s indifference. Her refusal to acknowledge the "emotional weight" of her former family’s regret is what makes the narrative so sharp.

Reality vs. Delusion. The "Saintess" Akari acts like she is in a bubbly Otome game, while Syltina treats the world like a survival horror. This tonal clash provides most of the story's friction.

Short & Punchy. At 63 chapters, the story avoids the typical filler of the genre, focusing entirely on the fallout of the kingdom’s incompetence and Syltina’s rise as a professional mercenary.

63 chapters of cold steel, professional mercenary work, and a noble lady who truly moved on. Complete — for those who want a villainess with a spine of iron.

Experience Curve

Ch. 1–10 (The Professional Return): ★★★★☆ – The Setup. The "villainess" is summoned back not as a daughter, but as a hired tool. Her cold dismissal of the King’s "authority" is an immediate hook.

Ch. 11–35 (The Escort Reality Check): ★★★☆☆ – The Grind. Syltina shows the difference between "Game Logic" and "Real World" survival. The contrast between her competence and the Prince's incompetence is the main driver.

Ch. 36–55 (The Grand Plan): ★★★★☆ – The Peak. As the stakes rise, Syltina’s mercenary mindset takes center stage. She prioritizes her guild mission over sentimental rescue, leading to some polarizing but consistent character choices.

Ch. 56–63 (The Final Reckoning): ★★★☆☆ – The Climax. The consequences of the kingdom’s past actions finally land. The ending is realistic and avoids the "happily ever after" for those who betrayed her.

WebNovelDB Review

7 /10
A refreshing, no-nonsense take on the Villainess trope. It’s a somber journey that prioritizes logical consequences over romantic fluff.

Pacing: 9/10. Being a shorter series, it moves at a brisk pace. Every chapter serves the purpose of moving toward the eventual downfall of the delusional "protagonists."

Character (Syltina): 8/10. She is incredibly consistent. She doesn't have a change of heart; she simply doesn't care about her past life anymore. Her professionalism is her defining trait.

Vibe/Atmosphere: 7/10. The tone is consistently chilly and pragmatic. It lacks the "warmth" of typical transmigration stories, which is exactly why it stands out.

The Antagonists: 4/10. The family and the Prince are intentionally frustrating. Their lack of growth makes them hard to watch, though it makes their eventual ruin more satisfying.

The Good: A rare instance where "I won't forgive you" actually means it. The mercenary world-building adds a layer of grit often missing from palace-centric novels.

The Bad: The secondary characters (the former capture targets) are so incompetent it can sometimes feel unrealistic that they survived as long as they did.

The Archetype: The "Moved-On Mercenary." She isn't seeking revenge for her own sake; she is just doing a job, and if her family suffers in the process, it’s just collateral damage.

The Final Verdict: This is a must-read for fans of "The One Within the Villainess" or those tired of the "I was betrayed but I'll still help them" trope. It’s a clean, short story that rewards readers who want to see a protagonist walk away from the toxicity without looking back at the explosion.

Tone Note: This is not a rom-com. If you are looking for the MC to fall in love with a Duke of the North, you won't find it here. This is a story about professional detachment.
